Chances are if you are reading this, you’ve booked your Mighty Minis Pop-Up Kids Portraits Session.. For starters, I want to thank you! And if your are still considering it, this might give you the extra information you are looking for. You kids are growing up so fast and it’s special that you want to capture a little about who they are, at this moment in time, with photos you are all going to enjoy. We are going to have a lot of fun and at the end of it you will have with some seriously fun portraits to hang on your walls and cherish for years. Your kids are full of personality, have a million facial expressions and love to make you smile, and that is what I aim to capture for you!

This guide will help give you an idea of what to expect from these sessions & set expectations for the both of us. My hope is that this experience with me is consistently three things; thorough, simplistic and personal.

With over 10 years experience as a photographer, you are in good hands. Not only do I want to deliver a beautiful collection of photographs of your kids, I want you to have the best experience possible! From this moment on, I want you to feel comfortable to tell me about your kids and get all your questions answered. I will give you, and your kids, plenty of feedback and direction during the shoot, and help in any other way throughout this process.

My shooting philosophy is simple - deliver beautiful and natural photos that make you beam with pride, and of course, will make you grin from ear to ear. I am not interested in extremely staged ‘moments’ that feel fake. I want to capture authentic moments and all the personality.

I try not to take myself, or my profession too seriously - at least where it counts. It’s not every day that we get professional photos taken of ourselves, and I want your kids to love this experience, be truly proud of themselves and let their personalities shine. We are going to have some fun, but most of all, I want you and your kids to feel like I am just a friend who happens to be a professional photographer.

MIGHTY MINI PORTRAITS SESSIONS

POP-UP STUDIO

I have loved taking photos of my kids ever since they were born. But as you know, it is hard to run after kids, finding the perfect light, getting the right angle and capturing it all perfectly. The first time I asked my oldest to sit against a plain white wall in our house, did his hair and prompted him with cues to allow his hilarious character to show through, a light bulb went off. That is how Mighty Mini Portraits was born. If I loved black and white portraits of my child making faces and being a kid, then maybe others would too.

For your photo session, we are taking it right to the studio. Your photography session will take place in studio at Studio1130.

WARDROBE

Just as location is important, so is what you wear. Because we are shooting black and white portraits, colour isn't something to consider, but pattern is and same texture. It is nice to play around with mixing fabrics and prints, but stay away from logos, cartoon characters or other graphics that will take away from the photos. I know its hard to say to no to your child wearing their favourite Spiderman t-shirt, but this is an opportunity for them to wear something extra special. Do not worry about dressing them up below the waist or shoes. These photos will be above the waist as a portrait style photo.

LITTLE DETAILS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

One way to make a real difference in the finished product is to make sure to do your kids hair, making sure they have a clean face and moisturize their skin before you arrive. This will make all the difference to the finish look of the photos. I make every effort to photoshop little things that might be a distraction like cuts, bruises or scraped, but editing crumbs on the face or dry patches of skin can be avoided and much appreciated if taken in consideration before we start.

SIBLINGS

You might be wondering about adding in a ‘siblings’ photo. This pop up style photo studio is meant to be small, compact and for one child only. If we have some time, we can absolutely try for a sibling photo. But with moving kids, it’s hard to keep them in a confined space and fit more than one in our backdrop. If we have success, you are welcome to purchase these photos for $75 for 5 edited siblings photos.

PHOTO DELIVERY

After our session date, I will upload your photos to an online gallery and I will send you a link to your collection. As part of this package, you are welcome to chose 5 images from your gallery to have edited. These selected images will be professionally edited and uploaded back into your gallery. If you wish to choose additional images from the gallery to edit, you can purchase additional images for $15 an image. From your gallery, you can view, share and download your images right to your desktop. You are welcome to share this link with whoever you wish. It's just that easy. Expect to see your edited photos within 2-4 weeks.

PRESENATION

I see these photos as large prints on your walls, but that does not limit the choices you have to display them. Choosing a professional printer for your printed photographs will make all the difference on the quality of print your receive. It is completely up to you on where you print your photos, but if you would like to print them through my professional printer, I will have a print pricing list coming soon.

COVID-19

We understand that safety is most important. We will take all the necessary measures according to health Canada to adhere to all Covid-19 regulations. We will have sanitizer on site and sanitize the set and all gear between each sitting. Parents and children must abide by public health restriction related to COVID-19 at the time of the event and while in studio. As part of the contract you’ll fill out at time of booking, you will sign a Cover-19 release. In addition, clients and photographer specifically undertake to immediately advise each other if any of them has, within 14 days of the session:

travelled outside of Canada
had a positive test for Covid-19 or been in close contact with anyone known to have had Covid-19
has any of the following symptoms:
Fever • New onset of cough • Worsening chronic cough • Shortness of breath • Difficulty breathing • Sore throat • Difficulty swallowing • Decrease of loss of sense of taste or smell • Chills • Headaches • Unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches • Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain • Runny nose or nasal congestion without other known cause.

PRICING

10 MINUTE SESSIONS

5 EDITED PHOTOGRAPHS via DOWNLOAD

This pricing is for one child. As a bonus, if you have more than one child in your household, you will pay $150 as a base price for your first child and $75 for each additional child in your family. You receive 5 edited photographs per child. All children will be photographed in the same time slot of your choice. Additional edited photographs can be purchased for $15 each. After our session, you will receive thumbnail versions of all your photographed to choose your favourites to be edited and instructions on how to make your selection. Once you have decided on the photos you’d like, I will edit them and send you high res versions of your photographs that will be perfect for printing as large as you like. You are also welcome to share these photographs on social media. Expect to see you finished photos within 2-4 weeks.

*** Once you have made you booking, you will receive notice to sign a photography contract and make you $100 deposit by EMT to info@deseraeevenson.com.

*** $100 non refundable deposit must be made to reserve your spot. The remaining balance will be due upon delivery notice. All funds must be received before photos are released.

TIPS & TRICKS

1- COME EARLY

Every child is different and some need time to get comfortable. I ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes early for your session but if you think your child might need a few extra minutes to prepare, allow yourself time. There is street parking at this downtown location, so please account for the time it might take to find a spot. These sessions are back to back and if you miss your time, we will try our very best to accommodate but we can not make any promises. We will need time in between to sanitize and make sure the day runs smoothly for everyone.

2 - SNACK!!

Because of COVID-19, we are not offering food and beverages at our studio session. You are welcome to bring your own if you think your child might need a little nibble. There is nothing worse than trying to get your child to smile if they are HANGRY. With that saying, it’s a great idea to have something extra special to tempt them to cooperate if you think they are going to need a little motivation.

3 - GIVE ME THE GOODS

If your child has a favourite face they make or something they think is extra funny, please don’t hold back and tell us. This the gold I am looking for! If they have a favourite toy that makes them smile, bring that. Some times its nice to see something familiar to make them feel comfortable enough to have fun. We will have a few items that we might use to get them to smile. Do not worry, even if these things don’t come into contact with your children, we will be sanitizing everyone in-between each sitting.

4 - MOST IMPORTANTLY

Prepare to have some fun! Remember, your child has never done something like before and I definitely do not expect them to know what to do or how to pose, that is my job. Don’t stress if your child isn’t agreeable or crying. Some time those photos are just as precious as the cute smiling ones, and hopefully we will get a little of everything! Come without expectations and you will walk away from this experience feeling great.
